Top issues during term (5)(Environment)
Electric grid reliability concerns
Urban tree canopy preservation in new development
Minimal — the idea is a roughly $60 plaque potentially sponsored by a local nursery.
Potentially invasive groundcover in landscape plans
The native alternative costs about the same as burning bush, so the swap is essentially free for the developer.
Yard waste contamination
Loss of processing outlets could force a costlier can-based collection system.
Lithium-ion battery fires in refuse trucks
A replacement refuse truck costs $500,000 with a 3-4 year lead time.
